    Hello from Germany,

I am very interested to see the MAKS and the Museum. ( privat )

    Are both together possible ?
Can I combine both with your museum tour ?
Do I need more days ?
Is is possible to visit the Maks by my own ?
I work for an airline and I am very interested in this business.

    Best regards.

    Hello Mr. Seiler,

I can't answer all your questions, but give you a few suggestions from my first MAKS visits in 2005 and 2007.

It is possible to visit the MAKS by your own. All you need is a ticket and to find the way to get there (I suppose information about this will be made available here on maks2009.com). In 2007 we were late for buying Tickets and in the Metro stations, where we bought them in 2005, they were already sold out. We had to buy them in Zhukovsky town at the day of the show. Huge crowds of people had the same problem and it was very frustrating trying to get one.

In addition, shuttle commuter trains from the Center of the City to Zhukovsky are very overcrowded. The best way to attend MAKS on your own is to get hold of a ticket early enough and choose accommodation close to Zhukovsky.

Russia is absolutely interesting, I'd recommend to reserve a few days more than "only" for MAKS and monino. If you already spend money for a Visa, it's a pity to spend only a short time in Russia.

Personally I find pre-arranged tours too expensive. Sure, they save you work (obtaining ticket / finding the way), but that's not worth so much most tour operators ask for.

    Cheers
    Tom

    Hello everybody,

yes, Tom is right, it is quite possible to organize a tour for yourself, but most of the time its quite confusing. Major reasons of that is that for people who are first time in Moscow or who don't know it well enough it is quite hard to match times, to get to the place, to find ways. Working on MAKS I know that people miss trains, because without experience its next to impossible to find a needed platform on a Moscow rail station, or the station it self even (there are 9 main stations in Moscow around the city), then people come too late, or there are not tickets on stock anymore, or the interesting part/squadrons for the person had already flew, and so on. Also often people give up, take taxi and pay much more staying in a traffic jam. (for MAKS days this is obligatory)

That is why I would say that if you feel able to make sure that you have tickets bought beforehand and that you can find the way to the airfield, then better and cheaper to do that on your own.
You can still join our group for a tour to Monino. Or you can join the group for both Monino and MAKS. It is up to you. You can combine all three services we offer for MAKS day (MAKS, Monino and Vyazma) or take just one or two.

As for the quantity of days, it depends how many and which days do you want to spend at MAKS. I would say weekend at MAKS and additional day before and after would be good.
But we can see what we can do in case you have different plan.
Moreover, we can organize a tour to Monino privately for you apart from group with personal transfer.

So, please, contact us with your decision. We will be happy to help with whatever you choose,

    Dear Olga,

We've planned to visit Moscow in August ( from 19th to 27th ) from France. We'll attend MAKS 2009 and would like to know the rate for 3 adults to visit Monino. Can you send me the details please (what is included or excluded ...) ? We've already booked the hotel around Rizhskiy Vokzal in Moscow. I speak russian (but not fluently) english and french of course, another person english and french and the last one just french.

I read that access to Monino is fairly difficult without a private car and foreigners must be accompanied by a russian citizen and get a visit pass to get in the museum, right?
Hence, I'd like to know if it's possible to go there with a driver ? I don't know what is included and not precisely. Maybe we could join a group with other people wanting to visit the museum on the same day, to lower the price.

Do you offer package for that visit in Monino and tickets to attend the MAKS airshow ?

Is it possible to combine visit to Monino and transportation from Moscow to MAKS also ?
Thank you in advance. You can contact me on my email : boston20k@yahoo.fr

    Best regards.
    Willy.

    Hello Olga:

I will travel Russia in August from South America and I need to plan my trip, so I have a few questions about visiting Monino Museum and I want to know if you can help me:

    1. What days or day is the tour to Monino? Do you have a timetable with hours?
    2. How many hours does the tour take?
    3. Can a I book a different hotel from the "list of recommended hotels" and you pick me up from one of those hotels, if I previously got there by myself on the day's tour?
    4. How the payment is? How many rubles? Does the price include the entrance at the museum? Do I need to pay beforehand or just pay the tour's day?
    5. What is the deadline to confirm my assistance?

    Dear Matias,

we will be happy to help with your trip planning!

As for the moment date and time for Monino trip are not defined. But even though, you can send us your preferable time and we'll see what we can do. I think we'll find a way :)

The tour takes normally half a day and for sure we will go there during week days.
The price includes: pick up at the hotel, transfer to the Monino Air force Museum, personal translator, guide, excursion around the museum, photoshooting, transfer back to the hotel, all the required paperwork, see here:
    http://www.maks2009.com/visit-monino-airforce-museum
As for the hotel, yes, sure, you can just come to the pick-up place.

We have much more information for you about payment, price, organisation and deadlines.
As far as forum is mostly for general discussions, please write me at public@maks2009.com and I will give you the whole itinerary.

    Best regards,
    Olga
